Our co-founder, Brian Mellett, is a pioneer in the lead generation space, with experience dating back to 1995. During that time, Brian was a partner in an online lead generation firm that specialized in connecting institutions of higher learning to potential students. That company, Education.org, was ultimately acquired by Fortune 200 company Monster Worldwide in 2006. Brian remained with Monster Worldwide, managing their largest educational client until he decided to move to a different entrepreneurial venture in 2008.

As a seasoned and successful entrepreneur, Brian never stopped evaluating the ever-changing current of lead generation and new client acquisition as a business consultant working with start-ups in technology and healthcare. For a number of years prior to 2015, SEO (search engine optimization) and SEM (search engine marketing) were the vehicles unconventional and unique businesses utilized to advertise their websites and gain new clients. The problem with SEO and SEM was that it took a minimum of 6 months of white-hat on-site management to see any type of results, not to mention practices were required to have a managed website to even use this advertising option. To make matters worse, SEO and SEM all changed when Google instituted logarithmic changes, making it nearly impossible for smaller businesses to rank organically.

With the advent of social media platforms, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest, Brian realized the marketing potential that these online communities represented and re-entered the lead generation space he knew so well. Originally Hoolaganz worked with many different types of clients across all business verticals, but what he found was that his high-level skills and experience made him and the company he founded better suited for a more unconventional client…essentially the client that most Facebook and Google Ad Agency couldn’t support.
